For the shoulder months on the northern Adriatic a 3/2 mm full suit is the usual choice. If you get cold quickly or ride long sessions, look at 4/3 mm.

Which wetsuit for our sea
Thickness by month, cut and size — without the guesswork
A wetsuit does not warm you by itself — it holds a thin layer of water that your body warms, and that layer has to stay put. That is why fit matters more than thickness: an oversized suit will leave you cold no matter how thick it is.
Thickness by season
The numbers are millimetres: the first on the torso, the second on arms and legs. For the northern Adriatic, roughly:

On the water it is mostly wind on a wet suit that chills you, not the sea temperature — which is why a kiter is often one step thicker than a swimmer in the same month.
Chest zip or back zip
A chest zip seals better and lets in less water, but is more of a fight to get into. A back zip is easier to put on and common on more affordable models. For cold days the chest zip is worth the effort.
Size
A wetsuit has to be tight, with no folds at the lower back or behind the knees, but it must not restrict your breathing. Between two sizes, take the smaller one. If you are on the border, send us your height and weight.

The first number is the neoprene thickness on the torso, the second on arms and legs, in millimetres. A thicker torso keeps you warm; thinner limbs keep you flexible. In 5/4/3 the third number refers to the arms.

Almost always because it is too big. If folds gather at the lower back or behind the knees, cold water sits there and keeps being replaced. A wetsuit has to be tight — uncomfortably tight on dry land is often right in the water.
