How to write a listing that sells
Used kitesurfing gear sells quickly when the listing answers the questions a buyer has anyway. There are always five: what it is, how old it is, how much it has been used, what is not perfect, and what it costs.
Photos
Shoot in daylight with the gear laid out — the kite on grass, the board from both sides, the harness front and back. Add a shot of the most worn area; a listing that shows wear is more credible than one that hides it. You get up to six photos, use them all.
Description
State the year and size (kite in m², board in cm, harness in clothing size), how many seasons it has been used and what has been repaired. If the kite has never touched rocks, say so. If it has, say that too.
Price
Look at what the same model and year is selling for — including our own used-gear listings. Gear that is two seasons old and in perfect shape usually sells well below new price; a listing at new-gear prices sits there for months.
Handover
Payment and handover are between buyer and seller — the shop is not an intermediary. For expensive gear it is worth arranging collection in person and inflating the kite on the spot.
