Fins
Kiteboard fins
Fins determine how much grip the board has and how well it rides upwind. A replacement set is cheap and often needed — screws get lost and fins break on contact with the bottom.
Big or small fins
- Bigger (around 50 mm) — more grip, better upwind, a more locked-in feel; forgiving for learners.
- Smaller (30–40 mm) — a looser glide, easier transitions and slide tricks.
- Finless — for freestyle and flat-water riding; demands better technique.
Tip
Tighten screws moderately and check before every session — the most common beach loss is a fin screw. Also see pads, straps and handles.
Tip: if you are not sure what you need, write to us — we advise based on your skill, weight and the conditions you ride in.
