Kiteboard pads and straps
Pads and straps are the only contact between you and your board. Good pads soften landings, damp vibration in chop and make the board feel like an extension of your foot — worn ones hurt after two hours and cost you control.
When to replace them
- The foam is compressed — the pad no longer springs back and landings feel harsh.
- The strap has stretched — your foot moves and you lose precision.
- You are changing riding style — freestyle wants a tighter strap, freeride a looser one.
Tip
Most pads and straps fit most boards, as the insert patterns are standardised. Have a look at handles and fins too.
